VideoInPlay
You’re putting together your immersive display system.
You’ve got several input sources. They all need to display on the screen— probably in a few different configurations.
- Some of the content is 3D, some of it isn’t.
- It could be a combination of PCs running Windows, Linux, or Mac operating systems.
- There might be a requirement to control it all from an external control system.
- Next year could see some more projectors added into the mix, so your investment should scale with your requirements.

VideoInPlay is the most flexible and versatile method of geometric correction and edge blending for immersive displays. We’ve created the product that we wanted for ourselves, with the following benefits:
Configurations
Each individual unit can be configured to support up to 4 concurrent inputs or outputs. Video expansion modules (such as Matrox TripleHead2Go) are fully supported on all inputs and outputs.
2x2 Unit
The basic unit supports up to 2 concurrent inputs and up to 2 concurrent outputs.
2x4 Unit
The 2x4 unit supports up to 2 concurrent inputs and up to 4 concurrent outputs. This unit is ideal for presenting a high resolution input signal on tiled lower resolution projectors.
4x2 Unit
The 4x2 unit supports up to 4 concurrent inputs and up to 2 concurrent outputs. This unit is ideal for combining several sources for a single display.
Combinations
For true scalability, connect multiple units to support any number of projectors— all overlapped and edge blended.
Features
- Supports a fully digital (DVI) path
- Commodity components
- Controllable and configurable
- Daisy-chain units for scalability
- Generates overlap regions
- Full Sol7 grade geometric correction and edge blending.
Connect all kinds of devices
DVD players, laptops, visualization clusters, and more. VideoInPlay uses DVI connectors and performs all scaling and conversion automatically.
Connect all kinds of projectors
Acquiring or upgrading your projectors is easy. There is no need to worry about video signal formats, VideoInPlay will automatically perform scaling and conversion. You can use your existing digital projectors.
Blend more projectors
VideoInPlay handles the generation of overlaps needed to blend projectors together. Connect more VideoInPlay boxes and they will share the overlap information via gigabit Ethernet. Expanding? Just connect more.
Low total cost of ownership
VideoInPlay is built on commodity components. It incorporates ImmersaView’s Sol7 geometric correction and edge blending software. Sol7 uses off-the-shelf graphics processors to deliver higher performance at lower cost.
Less maintenance
The system is easy to setup and easy to maintain. If projectors get moved it is easy to realign in just a few steps.
Training available
We offer training courses to help you get the most out of your system. A range of topics are available.
Integrates easily into your system
VideoInPlay includes remote control features that connect it effortlessly with automation systems such as those supplied by AMX and Crestron.
