4th JANUARY, 2008 - IMMERSAVIEW RELEASE SOL7 v0.9

ImmersaView
are pleased to release the latest version of
Sol7,
v0.9.
Sol7
is
a software tool for
geometric correction (warping) and edge blending of full screen,
real-time
applications. The
software is simply
manipulated through interactive control points, aligning the projected
display
to the screen surface.
Sol7
corrects
imagery for:
- non-planar screen shapes such as
curved
screens;
- unusual projection angles;
- a seamless image from multiple projectors; and
- any combination of the above.
Sol7
software runs in the
background and uses the Graphics Processing
Unit
(GPU) to perform the necessary image processing functions.
This means there is no
additional hardware
involved.
ImmersaView's director and lead developer, Alexander Streit
said "We’ve added new features that make it even easier to
use the
software and have increased compatibility with a host of new
applications.”
Sol7
v0.9 also provides
additional support for media
players.
Some of
the recommended media
players include Apple QuickTime Player, MediaPlayerClassic, VideoLan
Client,
MPlayer and Microsoft Windows Media Center.
If you would like to obtain a free demo

17th August, 2007 - Sol7 0.8 Released
Brisbane based ImmersaView announced the release of
Sol7 v0.8
on
Friday, 17 August 2007.
Sol7
is a software tool for geometric
correction (warping) and edge blending of full screen real-time
applications. The software is simply manipulated through interactive
control points, aligning the projected display to the screen surface.
Sol7
corrects imagery for:
- non-planar screen shapes such as
curved
screens;
- unusual projection angles;
- a seamless image from multiple projectors; and
- any combination of the above.
The
Sol7
software runs in
the background and uses the Graphics
Processing Unit (GPU) to perform the necessary image processing
functions. This means there is no additional hardware involved.
ImmersaView's director and lead developer, Alexander Streit said "One
advantage is that
Sol7
v0.8
isn't limited by bandwidth or resolution,
making it the perfect choice for high definition."
Curved screens
are often
used in simulation and visualization
applications, as they provide a sense of immersion to the viewer.
Projection onto
curved
screens
requires geometric correction to appear
undistorted on screen. Multiple projectors can be combined to form a
single image using edge blending, which seamlessly merges all sections
of the image.
Alexander Streit, said "
Sol7
v0.8 lets you create more compelling
projection displays. It is incredibly easy to use and can be configured
in minutes."

6th Sept, 2006 - ViswallTM installed
at Murdoch University

A
VisWall-9hdTM
was installed at the Centre for Comparative
Genomics (CCG) at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. The
display features 9 native HD projectors (1920x1080p) for an aggregate
resolution of more than 18 million pixels.
The display will be used to visualise the results of comparative
genomic analysis. The maps that are generated have incredible detail
and benefit greatly from high resolution display. In addition, the size
of display makes it ideal for small group collaboration.
